Choosing a therapist, as well as the type of therapy, can feel quite daunting.
The most effective therapeutic outcomes occur when there is a strong relationship between client, and therapist. Experience shows me that building trust, and understanding, is essential in order to create a space where you can begin to vocalise experiences, and express emotions that may be difficult for you to talk about.
What works for one person may not work for another. My approach is grounded in working with you as an individual – a process that aims to clarify, and illuminate issues central to you in a way that is non-judgmental, and down to earth; as such my practice is flexible and adapted according to your needs.
My approach has it’s foundations in Existential psychotherapy which asks us to consider our values, and what really matters to us. We are invited to examine our lives, and encouraged to live courageously, responsibly, and with authenticity. Together we will work to develop a deepening awareness of aspects of your life that you may find problematic or confusing, allowing you to engage with your choices, and ultimately to decide how you want to live in order to meet the challenges of your life, with greater recognition of your resources and strengths.
